The Delta variant of the Covid-17 is still a major cause for concern, the Indian SARS-Cov-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG) said in a statement. The Delta variant was first discovered in India in October last year. The same variant was responsible for the second wave in India in April.

At the same time, the total number of cases of corona in the country has increased to 2,3,01,50, according to figures released by the Union Ministry of Health. The number of active cases has come down to 1,7,8. Which is the lowest case in 3 days.

However, the death toll from the corona has risen to 5,3,12 so far, with more than 50 people dying from the corona in the last three hours. For the ninth day in a row, the number of new cases of corona has been below 20,000. For the 12th day in a row, new cases of Corona have been registered below 30,000. The number of active cases has decreased by 114 in the last 3 hours.

The National Covid-12 recovery rate has been 7.5 per cent. Which is the highest since March, 2020. The daily positive rate has been 1.10%. Which has been below 2% for the last 3 days. While the weekly positive rate has been 1.16 percent. Which has been below 2% for the last 3 days. So far, the number of vaccinated doses has crossed 110.5 crore.

A total of 2,8,16 people have died so far due to the corona. Out of 40 deaths today, 4 have occurred in Kerala and 12 in Maharashtra.
