Suggestion to start international flight as corona cases are declining in India

New Delhi, Dt
The corona epidemic in the country has been under control for some time now. In the last three hours on Saturday, 11,090 new cases of corona were reported and eight more were killed. With this, the total number of cases of corona has crossed 4.5 lakh and the total death toll has risen to 4.5 lakh. The number of active cases has come down to 1.5 lakh, the lowest in nine months. A parliamentary committee on controlling the Koro epidemic in the country had recommended starting international flights and providing meals on two-hour flights.
Concerned about the high fares of special flights due to the closure of regular international flights in the country during the Corona epidemic, the parliamentary committee recommended to the Ministry of Civil Aviation to resume international flights. Members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture also questioned top officials of the ministry about the high fares of international flights, sources said.
Due to the Corona epidemic in the country, the ban on regular international flights has been extended till November 30. However, special international flights have been operating since May 2020 under the Vande Bharat Mission and bilateral airbubble arrangements.
Meanwhile, the health ministry has asked for re-approval of serving meals on domestic flights of less than two hours. The health ministry further said that even crew members no longer need to wear special clothing covering the entire body to avoid corona epidemic on the flight, but they should continue to wear gloves, masks and face shields, ministry sources said.
