Rains continue in Tamil Nadu: Rain forecast for another 24 hours


- Heavy rains disrupted public life

Chennai: Rains continue in northern parts of the state, including Chennai and other areas in Tamil Nadu. Authorities cut off power to the area to prevent any casualties. The meteorological department said that the cyclonic circulation created in the Bay of Bengal and the nearby South Andaman Sea was 4.5 km above sea level. Extends to the top. It is still the same. It is expected to reach Tamil Nadu on November 11 after the westerly winds turn into a depression.

This could lead to widespread rains in many parts of the state from early morning on that day. Currently, four to 12 cm of rain has been recorded in the last three hours. While other areas at Thiruvannamalai, Kanchipuram, Kudlapore have received three to one cm rainfall.

Chief Minister MK Stalin visited the affected areas for the second day in a row and provided flood relief to the affected in Royapuram.

Most of the roads and streets in Chennai were flooded due to the rains. Because of that it was closed. Traffic diversion continued and road users faced many difficulties. In Adambakkam, the police station, which was flooded due to heavy rains, had to be temporarily relocated.

The Chennai Corporation has deployed 3,000 staff to remove water from roads and streets. Food packets of Pongal and Ravakhichadi were distributed to 2,05,60 people in the affected areas. So far, a total of 2,8,000 food packets have been distributed.

Stalin has set up 18 IAS to oversee relief work in 12 corporate zones. 200 special monsoon medical camps have been organized. The corporation said 4.5 people have received medical assistance. There are a total of 12 cases of fever, 14 cases were related to skin problems, more than 2,200 cases have been treated.
