Padma Awards: Late Sushma Swaraj Padma Vibhushan, p. V. Honored with Indus Padma Bhushan

President Ramnath Kovinde on Monday honored the celebrities selected for the 2020 Padma Awards. The names for this were announced only last year. Citizens who have made special contributions in different fields should be awarded Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri in three categories today.

Sushma Swaraj was nominated for the Padma Vibhushan this year. This award was given to him posthumously. Sushma Swaraj's daughter Bansuri Swaraj reached out to receive the honor from President Ramnath Kovind.

The President conferred the Padma Bhushan on badminton star PV Sindhu. Sindhu has won some international titles for India so far.

The President conferred the Padma Shri on Air Marshal Padma Bandopadhyay for his service in the field of medicine.

President Ramnath Kovinde honored popular Hindustani classical hero Pandit Channulal Mishra with the Padma Vibhushan award.

Popular singer Adnan Sami, who renounced his Pakistani citizenship and became an Indian citizen, was awarded the Padma Shri.

Former Head Scientist of ICMR Dr. Raman Gangakhedkar was honored with Padma Shri award. During the Koro epidemic, Dr. Gangakhedkar continued to provide important information to the people by holding press conferences.

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been awarded the Padma Shri. Kangana has recently been honored with a national award.

Rani Rampal, captain of the Indian women's hockey team, was also honored with the Padma Shri by the President. Under Rani's captaincy, the women's team performed well in the Olympics this time.
