Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived today to pay homage to Baba Kedarnath. He unveiled the statue of Adi Shankaracharya after anointing Baba Kedar amidst Vedic chanting. Before the Prime Minister's address, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, during his address, informed that hundreds of rupees have been spent on work in Kedarnath in 5 years. He said that Rs 245 crore has been sanctioned by you (Prime Minister Modi) for Badrinath Dham. Work worth crores of rupees has also been sanctioned for Gangotri and Yamunotri. The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand also handed over a memento of the Kedarnath temple to Prime Minister Modi.

Prime Minister Modi started his address with the slogan 'Jai Baba Kedar'. In his address, the Prime Minister said that our country is so vast, has so many great sage traditions. Even today, in every corner of India, one-to-one ascetics continue to awaken spiritual consciousness.

Recalling the natural calamity at Kedarnath, the Prime Minister said the damage done here was unimaginable. The devotees who came here thought that our Kedar Dhar would be able to sit again. But my inner voice was telling me that he would sit with more pomp than before. By the grace of God this development work was made possible.

The Prime Minister said he was constantly monitoring the development work in Kedarnath through drone footage from Delhi. Further recalling a proverb, he said, 'It is said that the water of the mountain never goes to the work of the mountain. Now water will also be the work of the mountain and going will also be the work of the mountain. The escape from Uttarakhand is to be stopped. The next decade is Uttarakhand. Tourism will grow here.
