Kedarnath: PM Modi anoints amidst Vedic chanting, unveils statue of Shankaracharya

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived today to pay homage to Baba Kedarnath. He anointed Baba Kedar amidst Vedic chanting and then unveiled a statue of Adi Shankaracharya. The Prime Minister also reviewed the development works there.

The Prime Minister unveiled a statue of Adi Shankaracharya at Kedarnath. It may be mentioned that it was Adi Shankaracharya who renovated the Kedarnath temple. Adi Shankar was born in Kerala.

Priests also chanted mantras at the Mahakal temple in Ujjain while Prime Minister Modi was performing pooja at Kedarnath.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath watched Prime Minister Narendra Modi's live broadcast from Kedarnath Dham in Gorakhpur. Notably, Kedarnath Dham is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. It is one of the 4 Dhams located in Uttarakhand. It was Adi Shankaracharya who renovated the temple. The present Kedarnath temple is located next to the Pandava temple.

Uttarakhand Governor Retired Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh and CM Pushkar Singh Dhami went to Dehradun Airport to receive Prime Minister Modi.
