Indication that Mukesh Ambani will decide the successor of Reliance Ind

I would prefer to follow in the footsteps of Sam Walt in handling the business responsibilities of Reliance

MUMBAI: Asia's richest man and chairman of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani is planning an ambitious plan to secure a successor to his estimated Rs 15.48 lakh crore business empire, a report has claimed.

Mukesh Ambani would like to follow in the footsteps of the Walton family when it comes to choosing a successor for his business, which spans from the oil to the telecom sector. It is worth mentioning here that Sam Walt, the founder of retail chain Walmart Inc., has set a good example of succession. In which he has adopted the policy of handing over the management control to different hands keeping the family at the center.

The 64-year-old Mukesh Ambani has not made any official announcement about his successor, but the company's current performance indicates that Mukesh Ambani is actively planning a successor, the report said.

Addressing the AGM of Reliance Ind. In June this year, Mukesh Ambani had hinted that his children would now take over key functions in their business empire. Mukesh Ambani's son Akash and daughter Isha Ambani are playing an active role in new age businesses like retail and telecom with the position of director and Anant Ambani is a director in Geo Platforms.
