India has sought permission to use Pakistani airspace for flights from Srinagar to Sharjah and has requested Pakistan to allow it in the interest of the general public.
Pakistani officials had earlier allowed Go First's flight to be used for airspace on November 23, 24, 26 and 28. Pakistan has since refused to allow it until November 30. The issue has been raised with the Pakistani government by the Indian government. Pakistan allows the use of its airspace in the interest of those who book tickets on the route.
The reason for India's request is that if the flight does not pass over Pakistan, it will have to choose a longer route, which will take another 40 minutes and could lead to an increase in ticket prices.
Pakistan has also said that it has refused to allow India to use Pakistan's airspace for the flight.
