An agreement was reached between Spain and Portugal on the 19th. Some part of the Spanish province of Lobois was submerged for the hydroelectric project. The village of Aceredo was submerged with the intention of building the Lindoso Dam. The scheme was implemented in 19. At that time, the villagers were evacuated overnight. The water of the river Limia turned over to this village again.

The village was then submerged. The villagers were evacuated overnight and all were relocated to a safe place. The village was submerged in water, but now it has reappeared as a surprise. The thing is that the village starts appearing when the water level drops. The locals now call this village a haunted village.

The village emerges from the water and looks like a scene from a Hollywood movie. People from the province of Lobois also flock to see the Ghost Village as the water shows scenes of creation. There is a craze for local photographers to take pictures of this village.

Families who lived here 40 years ago also return to their old homes. They are persuaded by the local government not to go there but they keep on visiting, saying that they are only coming to visit as a memento.
