Hindutva and ISIS are not one but one: Khurshid

New Delhi, Dt
In his book 'Sunrise Over Ayodhya: Nationhood in Our Times', Salman Khurshid, who has been embroiled in controversy by comparing Hindutva to a terrorist organization, has said that he has never said that Hindutva and ISIS are one. As I said, both are alike. Vineet Jindal, a lawyer, has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court seeking a ban on Khurshid's book, while the BJP has also lodged a complaint with the police against Salman Khurshid, Digvijay Singh and Chidambaram in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
Congress leader Salman Khurshid made the statement after comparing Hindutva with a terrorist organization in his book. Speaking on a program in Sambhal, Khurshid said he felt that some people were trying to defame Hinduism. They are the enemies of Hinduism and they are afraid that their reality has come to the fore. They will ban any book that reveals their facts. I believe that Hinduism promotes peace in the world. He added that he regretted writing the book in English. He also targeted the BJP without naming it, saying that those people are a little weak in English, but I say if you don't know English, get it translated. I have not commented on any religion.
Meanwhile, Vineet Jindal, a lawyer in Delhi, has filed an application in the Delhi High Court through advocate Raj Kishore Chaudhary seeking directions to stop the publication, distribution and sale of Salman Khurshid's book for allegedly making comments on Hindutva. The petition states that Khurshid's book compares Hindutva with radical jihadist groups such as ISIS and Boko Haram. The book, entitled 'The Saffron Sky', states on page 114 that the similarities between Hinduism and ISIS are considered a negative ideology for ISIS and Boko Haram, which is being followed by Hindus and Hinduism is violent, inhumane and oppressive. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra has discussed the matter with law experts and asked for a ban on the book in the state.
In Chhattisgarh, the main opposition BJP, Congress leaders Salman Khurshid, P. A complaint has been lodged with the police against Chidambaram and Digvijay Singh. In Raipur, BJP MP Ram Vichar Netam along with local MLAs reached the Civil Lines police station and lodged a complaint against the Congress leaders.
Meanwhile, Salman Khurshid has also talked about various political and social aspects of the country in his book 'Sunrise over Ayodhya: Nationhood in Our Times'. In one such case, he said, a cabinet meeting was held on December 6, 19 in Ayodhya, the second day after the demolition of Babri. At the meeting, the ministers tried to convey what they were thinking about Narasimha Rao. In response, former Prime Minister Rao said, "I want you people to 'have sympathy for me.' His remarks came as a major blow to cabinet colleagues from the Babri demolition.
