Gujarat topped the logistics index for the third year in a row

New Delhi: Gujarat has retained its top spot in the logistics index chart, according to a report released by the Commerce Ministry. This index is an indication of the expertise of logistics services required to accelerate exports and economic growth. Gujarat tops the list of 21 states. Gujarat is followed by Haryana, Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra respectively.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal today released the third Leeds (Logistics is Across Different States), 2021 report. This report will help identify problem areas and formulate a policy process to address them.

The purpose of this index is to improve the logistical performance in the states. Which is necessary to improve the country's trade and eliminate the cost of transactions.

Jammu and Kashmir tops the list of northeastern states and Union Territories of the Himalayas. While Delhi is at the top among the Union Territories.

The first logistics report was released in 2013. The list was not released last year due to the Corona epidemic.

Maharashtra ranks fifth, Uttar Pradesh sixth, Odisha seventh, Karnataka eighth, Andhra Pradesh ninth and Telangana tenth.

In this list, West Bengal is ranked 17th, Rajasthan 13th, Madhya Pradesh 13th, Goa 13th, Bihar 13th, Himachal Pradesh 20th and Assam 31st. This list has been prepared on the basis of 21 criteria. The survey was conducted between May-August, 2021.
