Think about what happens if you are boring for water and gas comes out of it instead of water. Such a unique incident has come up from Zumta village in Panna district of Madhya Pradesh. Flammable gas is leaking from the borewell there. There is great fear among the villagers over this incident. The administration team reached the spot as soon as the gas leak was reported and barricades have been set up near the borewell. People have also been instructed to stay away from there.

Panna Collector Sanjay Kumar Mishra has called for a special team of scientists from the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) to investigate the gas leak.

About 15 days ago, a borewell was being drilled for water at the government school campus in Zumta. Meanwhile, a fire broke out due to the ingestion of flammable gas. The administration managed to contain the fire with the help of the fire department. A team of experts was then called from Dehradun. A team of experts has tested the gas and water and installed a large chimney in the bore for safety.

2-3 days after this incident, several other borewells in the village also started receiving gas leaks. Later, Panna Collector Sanjay Mishra and Police Commissioner Dharmaraj Meena reached the village. He instructed the people to exercise caution. People were instructed to stay 10 feet away from the bore from which the gas leaked and not to carry any flammable material near the bore.
