New Delhi: Climate change is being witnessed across the country at present. On the one hand, heavy rains and floods have caused devastation in Kerala and a red alert has been issued in three districts. On the other hand, the temperature in Kashmir has dropped below zero degrees today.

The water level in most parts of Kerala has reached above dangerous levels. In addition, heavy rains and landslides are still forecast in South Kerala for the next two days.

The meteorological department has issued red alerts in Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur districts of central Kerala. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today appealed to the people through a Facebook post to be more vigilant as the danger of landslides is high in the current situation.

People are now being evacuated from areas prone to more floods and landslides in Kerala. Due to heavy rains, the number of tourists visiting the Sabarimala temple has been limited at present.

Kashmir, on the other hand, is witnessing an empire of snow and fog with temperatures dropping below zero degrees. Srinagar recorded a low of minus 0.9 degrees Celsius on Saturday night and minus 0.1 degrees Celsius on Friday night. Pahalgam, the base camp for the Amarnath pilgrimage, is currently at minus 3.5 degrees Celsius.

The air in Delhi and surrounding states is becoming more toxic

Air pollution in Delhi and surrounding states is increasing day by day. The air in the capital Delhi is also becoming extremely polluted and dangerous. Apart from this, similar air pollution has spread in Ghaziabad, Hapud, Greater Noida, Bulandshahr, Baghpat, Forozabad and Kanpur around Delhi. Due to air pollution in these areas many people are going to distant tourist destinations including Shimla to enjoy holidays and weekends.
