Resident doctors angry over delays in PG counseling

Demand for expeditious completion of Neat-PG Counseling and Admission Process of Resident Doctors Association

New Delhi: Resident doctors from three central hospitals in Delhi, RML, Safdarjung and Lady Harding, today shut down OPD services in protest of repeated delays in counseling for Neat PG 2021. The move comes in the wake of an appeal by the Federation of Resident Doctors (Forda) on November 27 to shut down OPD services.

The Association of Resident Doctors of Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, in a letter to the hospital administration, said that admission in various courses of NEET PG 2021 has been delayed indefinitely due to the Kovid epidemic. Resident doctors have been tirelessly advancing the cavid and non-cavid services for the last one and a half years and they are physically and mentally exhausted.

The letter further states that they are awaiting the same day for the positive result of the Supreme Court in the case of the already delayed Neat PG 2021 counseling. Because he has not received any relief from the physical and mental crisis and the next hearing of the Supreme Court is scheduled on January 6, 2022.

The letter states that in order to demonstrate against the repeated delays and postponement of counseling, we have approached ABVIMS and Drs. Resident doctors of RML Hospital have decided to close OPD on Sunday and Saturday, November 27, 2021.

The Resident Doctors Association has demanded the government and the Supreme Court to expedite the court process to start the process of net PG counseling and admission. AIIMS resident doctors have also backed the demand and called on the government to intervene.
