Hong Kong's Atlantic ship collided with India's Aviator cargo ship due to oil-chemical tanker

Khambhaliya, Porbandar: Security agencies, including the Coast Guard, were on high alert in the midst of a scuffle between two huge ships in the Arabian Sea near Okha in Devbhoomi Dwarka district at midnight yesterday.

The 43 crew members of both ships were rescued with the help of Coast Guard patrol ships, hovercraft and helicopters. On the other hand, the Hong Kong Atlantic, an Indian Aviator cargo ship with an oil-chemical tanker on board, was still in a frenzy today due to the possibility of it sinking into the sea.

According to sources, the Indian MV My Atlantic Grace cargo ship and an oil-chemical container ship My Aviator from Hong Kong-Philippines, about 12 nautical miles away from Okha in the Arabian Sea between Devbhoomi Dwarka district and Kutch, was wrecked on Friday night.

The matter was reported to the Indian Security Department. Security forces and the Coast Guard rushed to the scene and rescued all 43 crew members aboard. Which caused major casualties. Urgent action was taken to prevent oil from spilling into the sea and spreading water pollution from the vessel accompanying the oil.

A total of 21 crew members, including 21 from India and 22 from the Philippines, were killed in a bizarre accident in the Mediterranean. However, as soon as the Coast Guard was notified, its patrol ship, a hovercraft, as well as a helicopter, reached the two wrecked ships within hours and all the crew members were rescued.

Both ships were from Kandla port. One was coming and the other was going. The Aviator ship was hit in the middle of the Atlantic Grace ship in an accident at sea. The exact cause of the collision between the two ships is yet to be ascertained.

The Coast Guard's Pollution Control Vessels Ship ICGS was also enlisted to help prevent the spread of pollution at sea due to the accident. Fortunately, there was no leakage from the oil tanker and no further damage was done to both the ships. The collision between two huge ships in the Mediterranean was reminiscent of the Titanic tragedy.
