At present there are some saints, not demons, chanting Jai Shri Ram: Alvi

Sambhal (Uttar Pradesh), Dt
Controversial anti-Hindu rhetoric continues among senior Congress leaders. After Salman Khurshid, Rashid Alvi, another senior Congress leader, has slammed Hindus for making controversial remarks. Rashid Alvi, a former Congress spokesperson, said that not all monks in the country chanted Jai Shri Ram. Even the demons shout their slogans. However, as the controversy escalated, Alvi defended that his statement was now being misinterpreted.
Rashid Alvi, a senior Congress leader, told a rally in Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh that at present, the people chanting Jai Shri Ram are not monks, but nocturnal (demons). In Sambhal, Congress leader Pramod Kashnam has organized Kalki Mahotsav. Arriving on the third day of the festival, Congress leader Rashid Alvi made several allegations against the BJP from the platform. Pointing to the BJP leaders, he said that some people were misleading the people by chanting Jai Shri Ram.
Alvi narrates an incident in Ramayana that Lakshmana was shot by an arrow and when Hanuman was going to the Himalayas to take Sanjeev's herbs, Ravana sent a demon to stop Hanuman's way. He sat down and took the name of Lord Rama and started praising Him. Hanumanji also stayed there, but when he found out the fact, he killed the demon.
Even at the present time, some people are chanting the name of Lord Rama just like that demon. He said that the name of Lord Rama should not be taken without bathing, but it is not happening today. Some people are taking the name of God without taking a bath. Not all people chanting Jai Shri Ram are saints. I pray that Lord Shri Kalki incarnates as soon as possible and eliminates the criminals. He added that some people do not believe in religion, but talk about religion. Some people say that Ram Rajya has come in the country, but as far as I understand there is no place for hatred in Ram Rajya.
However, as the controversy over his statement escalated, Rashid Alvi clarified that whatever he said was against hundreds of monks. He did not call everyone who took Ram's name a demon, but the BJP has an old habit of taking advantage of Ram's name. It may be mentioned that before Rashid Alvi, Salman Khurshid has written an entire chapter in his new book 'Sunrise over Ayodhya: Nationhood in Our Times' on the growing ideology of Hindutva in the country. On page 112 of this chapter under the headline 'The Saffron Sky', he compared the Hindutva of RSS and BJP with terrorist organizations like Boko Haram and IS.
