The ISA had selected forests in states including Gujarat for the terror camp

Disclosure of IS's plan in NIA chargesheet

Arrest of several terrorists before implementing IS-K plan responsible for attacks in Afghanistan

New Delhi: Islamic State-Khurasan (IS) militants active in Afghanistan are now eyeing India. A report has revealed that these terrorist organizations want to set up their own training camps in some states in India, including Gujarat. Following which, the agencies have been alerted and are being closely monitored.

The revelation comes after a recent arrest by the NIA. In a chargesheet filed in the IS case from Bengaluru last month, the NIA has revealed that it wants to launch campo terrorists in India as well. However, the NIA has clarified that IS's plan is limited to paper only. Several terrorists have been arrested even before it was implemented.

A senior NIA official said IS militants had selected forests in Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Maharashtra besides Gujarat for their camps. The reason, however, is not entirely clear. The forests of Vardhman in Bengal, Jambusar in Gujarat and Ratnagiri in Maharashtra were selected for this purpose, according to the arrested IS terrorists operating in India under the name Al Hind.

However, it was not clear which areas of Madhya Pradesh have been selected. The arrested IS militants believe that the terrorists are planning in the same way that the camps are run by the Naxals in India.
