The 13th round of talks between India and China today on the stalemate in eastern Ladakh

After round of twelve rounds of talks, the armies of both the countries completed the process of disengagement at Gogra.

New Delhi: The 13th round of high-level military talks between India and China is to be held. The focus of the talks is still on the withdrawal of troops from both countries in eastern Ladakh wherever they are facing each other, government sources said. On the eve of the talks, General Mukund Narwane said India had taken retaliatory measures to counter the PLA's move. The standoff between the two countries has been going on for 17 months. In the meantime, the armies of each other have retreated from many places, but in eastern Ladakh, the armies of the two countries are still facing each other with fifty-fifty thousand.

The talks will be held at 10.30 am on the Chinese side at Moldo Border Point in eastern Ladakh. India is likely to push for disengagement at Depsang Bulg and Demchok. This is the 13th round of commander level talks between the two countries.

China is building new infrastructures in the eastern Ladakh region that could house a large number of troops there. Along with it, China is also deploying troops there. India has also deployed troops equivalent to China and India is also improving its infrastructure.

The 12th round of talks took place on July 31. The armies of both the countries then completed the process of disengagement at Gogra. The 13th round of talks is taking place after China recently infiltrated the Barahoti sector in Uttarakhand and Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh.

The issue was resolved in a matter of hours after the two countries' armies clashed at Yangtse in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh. Last month, about 100 Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) troops entered the Barhoti sector of Uttarakhand. He spent a few hours at the Indian border returning.
