Sessions court refuses to issue blanket order to NCB and Samir Wankhede

NCB-Wankhede's affidavit in special court on ransom charges

NCB alleges ransom allegations were an attempt to disrupt drug probe: Court directs Bombay High Court to file petition

MUMBAI: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and its zonal director Sameer Wankhede have filed an affidavit in a special court seeking to obstruct the investigation into the cruise drugs case involving actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan. The sessions court dismissed the NCB, asking it to apply to the Bombay High Court.

The NCB said in the affidavit that the investigation or evidence in the case should not be tampered with, while Wankhede denied the allegations against him. An autonomous witness in the case, in a statement to the media on Sunday, claimed that NCB officials and others, including absconding witness KP Gosavi, had demanded Rs 25 crore to release Aryan Khan.

Prabhakar Sail, an autonomous witness, told the media that he heard Gosavi talking to a man named Sam D'Souza on the phone, demanding Rs 25 crore and settling on Rs 18 crore as he owed Rs 8 crore to Sameer Wankhede.

Sail said he would present evidence shortly in support of the claim. NCB and Wankhede have filed an affidavit in the court dismissing the suit. Wankhede on Sunday wrote a letter to Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagarale seeking protection against possible legal action in the wake of an unidentified man plotting against him.
