After a two-day hiatus, both petrol and diesel prices have been hiked by 3 paise once again, pushing petrol and diesel prices across the country to new heights.

After today's hike, the price of a liter of petrol in Delhi has gone up to Rs 102.15 and a liter of diesel to Rs 7.5. In Mumbai, the price of a liter of petrol has gone up to Rs 114.11 and the price of diesel has gone up to Rs 104.5.

Diesel prices have been hiked by Rs 2.50 per liter since September 4 and petrol by Rs 5 per liter since September 4. India, meanwhile, has warned that the recovery in the global economy will be hampered if crude prices do not fall in the international market. Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said the recovery in the global economy would be weakened if crude prices remained high in the international market.

After a two-day break, prices have been hiked today. Petrol and diesel prices were hiked by 3 paise for four consecutive days before the two-day break.

Petrol price has crossed Rs 100 in all state capitals. While the price of diesel has crossed Rs 100 in 12 states. Even in Panaji and Ranchi, the price of diesel has crossed Rs 100.

Ganganagar in Rajasthan has the highest petrol and diesel prices in the country. In Ganganagar, petrol price has been hiked to Rs 114.5 and diesel to Rs 105.05.

In most parts of the country, the price of petrol has gone up to over Rs 100. In Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Kerala, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Goa and Ladakh, the price of diesel has crossed Rs 100.

It may be mentioned that the rate of VAT on petrol and diesel is different in each state and the price of petrol and diesel is different in all the states. International crude oil prices have risen to 4.5.

During the period from May 4 to July 15, petrol price was hiked by Rs 11.5 per liter and diesel by Rs 2.15 per liter.
