Rape-murder of girls hanged in Bihar, one sentenced to life imprisonment


Two major judgments in a week of Araria’s Poxo court

Order to provide Rs 10 lakh assistance to the victim's mother in a case of rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl

Araria: A Poxo court in Araria, Bihar, has handed down a landmark judgment in a case of gangrape and murder of a 10-year-old girl. The court has sentenced the accused to death. Earlier on October 4, the court had also sentenced the accused in a case of rape of an eight-year-old girl to life imprisonment.

Poxo Court Judge Shashikant Rai on Friday sentenced 21-year-old Amar Kumar to death. The court found him guilty under Sections 376 (d) (b), 302, 201 and Poxoni Section Four on the basis of available evidence. He was also sentenced to death for refusing to grant bail. He was also sentenced to three years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 3,000 under section 201 of the IPC.

The court also announced assistance of Rs one lakh from the Victim Compensation Fund to the victim's mother. The whole matter was complained of by the younger of the deceased girl. In which he informed about the whole incident and said that the girl had gone to see the fair. At which point she was forgotten in the huge crowd.

The girl's body was found nearby during the investigation. The accused was apprehended on the basis of the slippers which were left at the scene. The help of Dog Squad was also taken for this. Three other accused were also involved in the case.

An investigation is underway against him. Earlier, on October 4, Araria's Poxo court had sentenced Dilip Kumar Yadav to life in prison for raping an eight-year-old girl. That is, in just one week, the court ruled in two major cases.
