New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched the second phase of Swachh Bharat Mission (City) and the second phase of Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (ANMAT) to rid cities of garbage.

"We are fortunate that today's event has been organized at the BR Ambedkar Center," Modi said. Babasaheb believed that urban development was essential to eliminate inequality.

The Prime Minister further said that many people from the village come to the cities for employment. They get employment but their standard of living is even lower than in the villages. Under the second phase of Swachh Bharat Mission, progress will be made towards achieving the development targets set for the year 2030. The scheme works mainly at the Reduce, Reuse and Recycle level.

In the second phase of Swachh Bharat Mission, waste from cities will be disposed of in a scientific manner within the next five years. Which will not cause a mountain of garbage outside the cities. In the second phase of nectar each house will be connected to the water connection.

What is special about the schemes launched by Prime Minister Modi today is that the government will install a total of 2.68 crore clean water connections in the country under these schemes. Under which people will be able to get clean water. In addition, 2.64 crore sewer connections will be provided in 500 cities. Which will benefit 10.5 crore people.
