Petrol-diesel prices rise again after two-day hiatus: Diesel prices rise by Rs. Cross 100

Petrol and diesel prices were hiked again today after a two-day hiatus. Today, petrol and diesel prices were hiked by 3 paise per liter. As a result, petrol and diesel prices have reached new heights across the country.

Petrol prices have been hiked for the 17th time in the last two weeks and diesel for the 17th time in the last three weeks. After today's hike, the price of a liter of petrol in Delhi has gone up to Rs 102.5 and a liter of diesel to Rs 7.5. In Mumbai, on the other hand, the price of a liter of petrol has gone up to Rs 110.8 and a liter of diesel to Rs 101.50.

In most parts of the country, the price of petrol has gone up to over Rs 100. Now the price of diesel has crossed Rs 100 in 12 states. These 12 states include Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Kerala, Karnataka and Leh. There was no change in petrol and diesel prices on October 16 and 17.

Petrol and diesel prices vary from state to state as VAT rates vary from state to state.

Petrol and diesel prices were hiked for the seventh day in a row till October 11. There was no change in the price for two days. And prices were raised again today.

The country's state-owned oil marketing companies Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) have started raising diesel prices from September 4 and petrol from September 4. Since then, petrol prices have been hiked by Rs 2.50 and diesel by Rs 2.50.

Earlier, petrol prices were hiked by Rs 11.5 per liter and diesel by Rs 2.15 per liter from May 4 to July 15.
