Petrol-diesel price hike for third day in a row 100

With rising crude oil prices in the international market, India's state-owned oil marketing companies today again raised petrol and diesel prices, taking fuel prices to new heights in the country. According to the price notification issued by state-owned companies, the price of a liter of petrol has been hiked by 20 paise and diesel by 3 paise today. Today, for the first time in Ahmedabad, the price of petrol has gone up to Rs 100. In Ahmedabad, the price of diesel has gone up to Rs 2.50.

After today's hike, the price of a liter of petrol in Delhi has gone up to Rs 102.5 and the price of a liter of diesel to Rs 71.5. In Mumbai, the price of a liter of petrol has gone up to Rs 102.5 and a liter of diesel to Rs 7.5.

As the VAT on petrol and diesel varies from state to state, the price of petrol and diesel varies from state to state. Following today's price hike, petrol price has gone up to over Rs 100 in the capitals of Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.

Now there are only four state capitals where the price of petrol is less than Rs 100. These four capitals include Dehradun, Chandigarh, Guwahati and Ranchi. In Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the price of diesel has crossed Rs 100.

Sriganganagar in Rajasthan has the highest petrol and diesel prices. Petrol price has gone up to Rs 113.15 and diesel to Rs 103.5. It may be mentioned that oil marketing companies have started raising diesel prices from September 4 and petrol prices from September 4. Diesel prices have been hiked by Rs 2.15 per liter since September 4 and petrol prices by Rs 2.15 per liter since September 4.
