Modi's accusation of intellectual dishonesty against the Opposition on the issue of agricultural law

New Delhi: Opposing the months-long farmers' protest in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the political parties opposing his government's agricultural laws are intellectually dishonest and in a way committing political fraud.

"If you oppose agrarian reform, it is clearly political fraud and intellectual dishonesty," the prime minister said in an interview with a magazine. Modi was responding to a question on whether he would have taken more risks if he had banned banknotes and now introduced three agricultural laws.

He was asked if he was concerned about the consequences of such a necessary but dangerous step. In response, the Prime Minister said that the only model of previous governments was to be re-elected as a government. I am basically a different thinker. I believe we run the government for nation building.

On the government's strong stance on agricultural legislation, Modi said the government was committed to the interests of small farmers. When it comes to talking about agricultural laws, the government has said from day one that it is ready to sit down and discuss any issue on which there is disagreement. How many meetings have been held in this regard? No one is dissatisfied with this issue yet and we have not come up with a solution.

Prime Minister Modi said that one can see that whether it is a matter of GST, Aadhaar or a new parliamentary building, political fraud is evident.
