In post-epidemic India, it is important to focus on 'green investment': IMF

"India's economy is recovering even after a sharp hit in Kovid: its investment / debt ratio has declined"

The Indian economy is recovering even after the Kovid epidemic. It should now focus on public investments, particularly in the 'green-investment' sector, the International Monetary Fund said on Wednesday.

Paulo Moaro, deputy director of the IMF's Fiscal Affairs Department, told a news conference yesterday that India's debt-to-debt ratio was about 40%. It shows that there is now a moderate level of financial structure being set up. So investors are becoming convinced that the debt ratio will continue to decline at a moderate level.

In response to a question, they said that in view of the epidemic, the situation there is improving. That can be said for sure. The (current) situation is definitely better than it was a few months ago. Luckily there (Kovidna) cases are declining. As well as vaccination is becoming widespread.

As far as the economic sector is concerned, even though the situation has improved, it is still imperative to focus on the health sector. "It is still imperative (in India), especially for the poorer sections of the population, to provide social security through employment," Mauro said.

As for the recent reforms, I would like to focus on the 'National Reconstruction', also known as the 'Bad-Bank'. Basically it’s very promising. Because it is trying to solve the problem of 'non-performing loans'. This is a long standing burden on the lenders, so it is important that the government finds a way out of it independently. So that ‘public-finance’ remains in control, and moves towards holistic development. Mauro said in conclusion.
