China's largest infiltration into Taiwan, 3 fighter planes

Taipei, Ta. 3

The Chinese air force infiltrated Taiwan's air border late Friday night and early Saturday morning in a show of strength on its National Day. Six Chinese fighter planes crashed in Taiwan.

This was the largest two-stage infiltration from China so far. To respond to China, the Taiwan Air Force immediately sent its fighter planes and also deployed missiles. China has been infiltrating the Taiwanese border continuously for the last one and a half years rather than grandfathering.

These Chinese fighter jets mostly pass close to the airspace of the Taiwan-controlled Pratap Island group. According to Taiwan's Defense Ministry, China sent 17 J-16s, four Sukhoi-20 aircraft and two H-4 bombers capable of dropping nuclear bombs. Apart from this, an anti-submarine aircraft was also in the Chinese fleet. Taiwan also ran its fighter jets in response.

Taiwan's Defense Ministry said 12 Chinese fighter jets once again crossed Taiwan's airspace on Saturday morning. It also includes 10 J-16s, 2 H-4 bombers and an early warning aircraft. The ministry said Taiwan's fighter jets had warned Chinese aircraft, while missiles had been deployed to monitor Chinese aircraft. The first batch of Chinese planes passed through the Pratas Island group and the second batch passed through the Bashi Channel, which separates Taiwan from the Philippines. It connects the Pacific Ocean and the disputed South China Sea. Earlier, China had demonstrated its strength by sending six aircraft simultaneously in June.
