BJP's Varun Gandhi warns against calling Lakhimpur Kheri incident a Hindu-Sikh incident

- Varun removed from BJP National Working Committee for calling Lakhimpur incident a struggle of poor farmers against the authorities

Varun Gandhi, a BJP MP from Pilbhit and a Mobhi of the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty, in a tweet on Sunday issued a stern warning against treating the Lakhimpur incident as a Sikh incident against Hindus. He said that this would lead to unintentional cracking and rejuvenation of a wound that had taken a whole generation to heal. This would be a desperate situation.

Varun Gandhi has been removed from the BJP's national executive for treating the Lakhimpur Kheri incident as a struggle of poor farmers against the authorities. It is well known. Varun Gandhi equated the Lakhimpur incident with the clash of arrogant authorities against poor farmers struggling for justice, adding that the incident had nothing to do with religion.

He further tweeted that the use of the word Khalistan in the Lakhimpur incident, which is being used in an anti-Hindu, anti-Sikh manner, is not only immoral but also anti-national unity, an insult to the proud children of the Terai. These are the same grandchildren of India who fought on our borders, blood was shed. True statement will lead to false repercussions which are also dangerous for national unity. We should not play trivial politics against national unity.

Farmers' unions, on the other hand, blamed the father-son duel for the incident, saying the minister had made a provocative speech when the vehicle in which the farmers were crushed was the son in the vehicle.

However, both have categorically denied the allegations.

Last Sunday, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya was on his way to attend a national event when farmers gathered at the venue to protest against him. And were demonstrating their opposition to agricultural laws. At that time, a vehicle crashed there, crushing 3 persons including 3 farmers. Ashish Mishra was in the vehicle, the FIR said.

It is alleged that two BJP workers and their driver were killed by angry farmers after the incident and a journalist Raman Kashyap was killed in the storm.

The truth may come out, but at this stage, the reality is that the BJP has followed in the footsteps of Paroth in the forthcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.
