Which law prevents Mamata Banerjee from going to Rome? Swami opposed the decision of his own government

New Delhi, September 26, 2021

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been invited to attend a peace conference in Rome.

The External Affairs Ministry says it is not appropriate for the CM of any Indian state to attend such a convention. On the other hand, BJP MP Dr Subramaniam Swamy has come out in favor of Mamata Banerjee on the issue.

Dr. Swamy questioned why the Chief Minister of Bengal was stopped from attending the conference in Rome, what law prevents him from going there?

The conference was scheduled to take place in Rome on October 6 and 7, but Mamata Banerjee will no longer be able to attend.

Mamata Banerjee had earlier visited Rome in 2016 when Mother Teresa was canonized.
