Union Home Ministry meeting with Naxal-affected states, Chhattisgarh CM not involved


Apart from Chhattisgarh, special emphasis will be laid on Jharkhand and Odisha

The Union Home Ministry on Sunday held a meeting with the chief ministers of Naxal-affected states. Home Minister Amit Shah will review the security situation in the Naxal-affected areas with the chief ministers. According to a report, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will not attend the meeting.

While Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray are participating in the meeting. Along with Uddhav, Maharashtra Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte and DGP Sanjay Pandey will also attend the meeting. However, two representatives from Chhattisgarh are also attending the meeting. The DGP and Chief Secretary of the state are in Delhi and they will attend the meeting. Baghel has no plans to go to Delhi today. They will go to Mahasamund and participate in local programs there.

The meeting will be held at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi. Uddhav Thackeray will leave Delhi Airport for Vigyan Bhavan to attend the meeting. The meeting will run until 2:00 p.m. After that they will leave for Maharashtra.

Amit Shah will preside

Home Minister Amit Shah will chair the meeting. Along with the Chief Ministers of the state, the Chief Secretary and the DGP have also been invited to the meeting. The focus of the meeting is on issues such as security as well as development. It will include Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, IB Director Arvind Kumar and all senior Home Ministry officials. The DGP of CRPF will also attend the meeting.

CMs of 10 states called

Amit Shah has called the chief ministers of 10 states for a meeting to take stock of Naxal activities in those states. The meeting will also discuss the steps to be taken to combat the Naxals. Apart from Chhattisgarh, special emphasis will be laid on Jharkhand and Odisha.

The Center wants security forces to intensify operations in Naxal-affected areas of Chhattisgarh. The state police is leading the operation. But in the opinion of some, the number of these operations has decreased under the caretaker government.
