Tripura: Violence between BJP and CPM workers, office fire, several workers injured

In Tripura, a scuffle broke out between BJP and CPI (M) workers and escalated to the extent that some workers of both the parties were seriously injured. It was learned that a rally was organized by the CPM Youth Wing Federation in Udaipur city of Gomti district. At that time some BJP workers were passing by and were attacked by CPI men.

A BJP faction was present and after the attack, there was a scuffle between the two parties and several workers were seriously injured. Not only that, sabotage was also carried out in other districts. CPM offices at Agartala, Bishalgarh and Kaithala were set on fire and heavily vandalized.

The former chief minister's program also clashed

Violent clashes between the BJP and the CPI have been going on since Monday. It is learned that former chief minister Manik Sarkar had gone to Dhanpur to take part in a program where he was opposed by BJP workers. Meanwhile, clashes broke out between CPM and BJP workers.

According to the police, the injuries of the injured BJP workers in Udaipur are serious and a large number of police personnel have been deployed there to prevent such clashes.

Udaipur was also heavily congested and police had to work hard to control it, police said. CPM leader Bijan Dhare said his vehicle was attacked and set on fire while he was visiting the party office. Besides, former minister Ratan Bhowmik's vehicle was also set on fire.
