The rare Nilkamal blossomed in the forest area of ​​Kedarnath, Uttarakhand

Rare sapphire flowers bloom in some places in an area of ​​about 5 km from Vasukital Kund in the forest area of ​​Kedarnath in Uttarakhand. The blossoming of this flower is considered a miracle because it seldom blooms years later. It is believed that nature has paused in the Himalayan region due to the reduction in pollution due to the impact of the lockdown. There are a total of four types of lotus blossoms in the Himalayan region. These include a Nilkamal, Brahma Kamal, Fan Kamal and Kastura Kamal. In Hindu mythology, it is believed that the lotus flower originated from the navel of Lord Vishnu.


The lotus flower is blue, pink and white. Kumudani and Utpal are a type of sapphire lotus. Neelkamal is considered to be the favorite flower of Lord Vishnu. The botanical name of this flower is Neymphyus natchli or Phytocalicus of Genesia. As the name suggests, this blue flower is found in the southern and eastern parts of Asia. Neel Kamal is the national flower of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Fan Kamal, Kastura Kamal and Brahma Kamal are easily seen but Nilkamal is considered to be very rare so the blossoming of Nilkamal is giving pleasure to nature lovers.
