In today's digital age, the importance of traditional post office postal service is declining. During the British rule, the Landhaur Post Office was started at Rani Mussoorie in 18 AD. The proposal to close the post office has been going on for some time now. This post office has finally closed. Operations like Parcel, Register AD and Speed Post in this area have been shifted to Kuldi Post Office. Surprisingly, the Landhor post office is also mentioned in the stories of the well-known English writer Padmabhushan Ruskin Brand.

Locals are also annoyed with the closure of the post office. The Landhor Post Office was established by Captain Frederick Young, the founder of Mussoorie in the 19th century. The British set up an army camp at Landhor. A post office facility was started for the soldiers living in the camp. When the main post office was started at Central Kuldi in 1908. This is the post office where Jim Corbett's father, Christopher William Corbett, served as postmaster from 190 to 19. After the 15-year-old Landhor Post Office, another branch of the Post Office was opened in 1908 at the Sevay Hotel near Library Market in Mussoorie. Sevai Hotel is considered to be one of the oldest hotels in India. The historic post office in Mussoorie has also been a major tourist attraction.

Seva Mussoorie is still inscribed on the coin used in this hotel. Members of the Mussoorie Traders and Welfare Association staged a sit-in protest against the closure of the historic Landhore Busney post office. Not only that, there was a hint of agitation against the move to close the post office in the near future. Historic heritage lovers believe that earlier the post office near 3 shops in Landhor Cantonment area was quietly closed and now it is the turn of Landhor Post Office. Post offices are opened in remote areas but should be maintained in place of the decades-old historic post office. According to the information received, there are about 7,000 bank accounts in the Landhor post office but people do not understand why they were closed.
