A special air strip was launched on Barmer Highway in Jalaur, Rajasthan on Thursday. It was inaugurated in the presence of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. What is special is that both the ministers also came to this airstrip by a special aircraft of the Air Force.

An Air Force fighter plane will be able to land on a 4 km long air strip just a short distance from the Pakistan border. A Sukhoi fighter plane will fly over the runway on Thursday, along with Jaguar and other Air Force aircraft.

What is special is that this airstrip is near the Indo-Pakistan border so it will be strategically important in the future as well. This type of air strip has several important roles on the highway. There will also be a facility to park about 4 aircraft.

The Air Force has been focusing on building such air strips on national highways in different parts of the country for some time now. This is the first national highway where this type of air strip has been prepared. Earlier, Sukhoi had also landed on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Uttar Pradesh.
