Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered stern action against officials involved in the illegal construction of two 50-storey Supertech towers in Noida, officials said in a statement.

According to an official spokesperson, the chief minister has also been directed to file a criminal case against the culprits. If necessary, the Chief Minister himself will review the matter in Lucknow.

The apex court had yesterday ordered the demolition of two 50-storey towers at Supertech's Emerald housing project in Noida's Sector 7 for illegal construction. The Supreme Court has ordered the demolition of both the towers within three months.

Adityanath said the Supreme Court order in the Supertech Emerald Court case would be complied with. Irregularities have been going on in this case since 2009. Strict action will be taken against every guilty officer. If necessary, a criminal case will also be filed.

Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari, on the other hand, said the Supreme Court order would be strictly followed. Yogi has also directed the government to investigate the case.
