The land of Jauhar University, built by Azam Khan, a veteran leader of the Samajwadi Party and a former minister in the UP government, has now been taken over by the UP government. The process of reclaiming 70 hectares of land of the university has been completed by the UP government. This became possible after the UP government's appeal against the action was dismissed in the Allahabad High Court.

According to Tehsildar Pramod Kumar, they are now taking possession of the land as the High Court has rejected the application relating to the process of taking back the land.

Became a university during the SP government

During the Samajwadi Party government, Azam Khan built the Mohammad Ali Jauhar University in the name of Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar, a freedom fighter from Rampur. But with the change of power, his dream came true and more than 100 cases were registered against Azam Khan after the Bharatiya Janata Party came to power in the region.

All proceedings were also initiated against Jauhar University. One of those proceedings was under the Sealing Rules of the Landlord Abolition Act, 1950, in which no person, family or organization can hold more than 12.5 acres of land without the permission of the Territorial Government. Under this rule, the administration took action by keeping a crooked eye on Jauhar University.
