Rajasthan unsafe for women and girls: 25 per cent increase in rape cases

Jaipur: When it comes to crimes against women, Delhi comes before our eyes first. But if you look at the states, Rajasthan is no less. The situation on the women's security front in Rajasthan is extremely bad. The latest figures from the National Crime Records Bureau have opened this poll of the state. Rajasthan is considered to be very unsafe for women and girls.

In the year 2020, the highest number of rape cases was reported in Rajasthan. The fact that 1,729 minors were raped in the state shows how bad the situation is there. If the rape statistics are looked at holistically, it is clear that sisters and daughters are not safe in Rajasthan. The number of such crimes has increased by 25 per cent in 2021 as compared to 2020.

The NCRB has expressed concern over the situation of women in Rajasthan. The steps taken by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for the safety of women are insufficient. In April 2021, the Gehlot government approved a new women's policy for women's empowerment. Under it, the goal was to make half the population of Rajasthan safe and well-educated. These include important events in women's lives such as birth, safety, health, nutrition, education, training, livelihoods, property ownership, and participation in political and social power. In addition, she has set up women's crime research units in every district to prevent crimes against women.

Despite all these measures, there are huge gaps in the women's safety front in Rajasthan. Seeing the rapid rise in crimes against women in the state, it seems that it will be difficult to control. If crimes against women are not controlled, the morale of criminals will increase. No region can progress without being sensitive to women.
