Petrol and diesel prices fall after seven days of stagnation

After seven days of stable petrol and diesel prices, today petrol prices have been reduced by 10 to 12 paise and diesel by 12 to 15 paise. In Delhi, both petrol and diesel prices have been reduced by 12 paise. At the same time, the price of a liter of petrol in Delhi has come down to Rs 101.8 and a liter of diesel to Rs 7.5.

In Mumbai, the price of a liter of petrol has come down by 15 paise to Rs 102.5. The price of a liter of diesel has come down by 15 paise to Rs 7.5. In Kolkata, the price of a liter of petrol has come down by 10 paise to Rs 101.5 and the price of diesel by 15 paise to Rs 41.5.

In Chennai, the price of a liter of petrol has come down by 12 paise to Rs 2.09 and a liter of diesel by 15 paise to Rs 7.5. The last hike in petrol and diesel prices was on July 15. Earlier, petrol prices were hiked by Rs 11.5 per liter and diesel by Rs 2.15 per liter from May 4 to July 15.

Following the hike, petrol prices had crossed Rs 100 in many parts of the country and diesel in some parts of the three states.

Petrol and diesel prices in India are determined on the basis of the price of crude oil in the international market and the value of the rupee against the dollar.
