Not just the Congress president, unfortunately, a CWC meeting is called: Sibal

New Delhi: The country's oldest party, the Congress, is in turmoil again. Former Union Minister and Congress leader Kapil Sibal held a press conference on Wednesday. He has again questioned the Congress president. He said that unfortunately the Congress has no president. He has demanded a meeting of the Congress Working Committee.

"I am speaking on behalf of those Congressmen who wrote a letter to the Working Committee and the Central Committee in Congress in August last year to elect the party chief and we are still waiting for it," Sibal said.

"There is also time to wait, how long will we wait," he said. We just want a strong organizational structure. Some things should happen. Any issue should be discussed in the CWC. The situation in Punjab should be discussed. We are not against anyone. We are with the party. Yet the fact is that the party has no elected head. He said the Pradesh Congress Committee should not be controlled from Delhi.

"I'm very sorry to have you here," he said. The party I am a member of has a glorious history. We cannot see its current state. We are facing challenges and the party should not be in the position it is in.

“People are leaving us,” Sibley said. Sushmitaji is gone, Scindia is gone, Jitin Prasad is gone, Sudhiran is gone from Kerala, now the question is why people are leaving. The logical answer must be found. The working committee should have a dialogue. We are not the ones who keep leaving the party. The trouble is that only those who were considered close to the party's central leadership are leaving the party. I urge them to come back, as Congress is the only party that can save the country.

Kapil Sibal is one of the 23 leaders who wrote a letter to Sonia Gandhi last year seeking the election of a Congress president. We are G-23, not G-Hazur-23. We will continue to reiterate our demand.
