Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Saturday, the last day of his US tour. BJP president JP Nadda termed the PM's address as a matter of pride for the country. Chidambaram has taken it in stride. Congress leader Kapil Sibal has also lashed out at the UP and Assam chief ministers on the pretext of PM Modi's statement.

Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP P. Chidambaram said only a few seats were filled during Prime Minister Modi's address. After Prime Minister Modi's address, no one even applauded. "When Prime Minister Modi addressed the UN General Assembly, I was very disappointed that only a few seats were filled," he tweeted. Even more disappointing was when no one even clapped. India's permanent mission to the United Nations has faltered.

Sibal's tweet

Congress leader Kapil Sibal tweeted, "Prime Minister Modi during his address to UNGA called India Mother of All Democracy, I hope Yogiji (UP CM Yogi Adityanath) and Himant Biswa Sharma (Assam Chief Minister) are listening."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a lot of noise in the UN General Assembly without naming Pakistan and its Prime Minister Imran Khan. "Anyone who is using terrorism should also understand that it is a big threat to them," he said. Referring to the situation in Afghanistan, he said, "We also need to be vigilant so that no country tries to use the fragile situation there as a tool for its own interests."
