Mumbai: Nirbhayakande in Delhi caused an uproar across the country. A similar horrific incident has been repeated in Mumbai. Naradham, who raped a woman in Sakinaka, sustained serious injuries to her genitals with a rod.

The seriously injured woman, who was the victim of this heinous act, breathed her last at a hospital in Ghatkopar today after succumbing to her injuries. Following this, there has been a strong demand from all over Maharashtra for the execution of Naradham, who committed this heinous act. Police have registered an offense under various sections and arrested the accused.

The court has remanded him in police custody till September 21. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has ordered the case to be tried in a fast track court. The Chief Minister assured that the accused would be severely punished. Uddhav Thackeray had discussed the matter with the Mumbai Police Commissioner.

Mohan Chavan, 45, raped a 34-year-old woman at a tempo parked on Khairani Road in Sakinaka near Kurla. The perverted fascination was later inserted into the victim's genitals. He also assaulted the woman and attacked her with a sharp weapon.

Then he fled. Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagarale said, "Security guards called the police control room and informed about the incident. Police launched a thorough investigation to nab the accused on the basis of CCTV footage and other information.

The accused was caught on CCTV fleeing the scene. Police finally arrested the accused at the time of the incident. The victim was admitted to Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar in critical condition. The woman was seriously injured in the private part and was bleeding profusely. The woman's death during treatment at the hospital today was accompanied by outrage and grief.

Sakinaka is the only accused in the rape and murder case. No other accused was involved. This can be seen in the CCTV footage. The answer of the rape victim dead woman could not be recorded. She was unconscious. The police investigation will provide more information on the case.
