Mulla Mohammad Hassan Akhund could be the new Taliban president proposed by Hibtullah Akhundzada

Mulla Mohammad Hassan, the head of the Taliban's new government in Afghanistan, may be intact. According to media reports in Kabul, Hibtullah Akhundzada has proposed the name of Mulla Mohammad Hassan Akhund. Hassan Akhund will get the post of Rais-e-Jamhur or Rais-ul-Wajar. Mulla Baradar and Mulla Abdus Salam will act as their deputies.

Mohammad Hassan Akhund has been the head of the Taliban's Rehbari Shura for 20 years. According to sources, Sirajuddin Haqqani of the Haqqani Network could be the interior minister while Mulla Yaqub, the son of Taliban founder Mullah Omar, could be the defense minister.

Akhund is currently the president of Lena's Nikaya Rahbari Shura, which has all the powerful decisions of the Taliban. According to media reports, a Taliban leader said he had served as president of the Rehbari Shura for 20 years and had earned a good reputation for himself. Instead of a military background he is a religious leader and is known for his character and devotion.

According to the report, Kandahar-born Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund has held important positions during the last Taliban regime in Afghanistan. He was also the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the country during the government led by Mulla Mohammad Rabbani Akhund.

Taliban spokesman Jabihullah Mujahid wanted to be the information minister in the new government but now it has been decided to appoint Mulla Hassan Akhund, the possible president of the new government, as the spokesman.
