Chandigarh, Ta. 13

Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu was slammed after Capt Amarinder Singh resigned as Punjab Chief Minister. However, opposing Sidhu's chances of becoming the chief minister, Capt Amarinder said, "What will a person who has not been able to run a single ministry run the entire state?" He also claimed that Sidhu had good relations with Pakistan.

Resigning from the post of Chief Minister, Amarinder Singh claimed that if Navjot Singh Sidhu was elected as the Chief Minister of Punjab, the state would be ruined. Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan is a friend of Navjot Singh Sidhu. Sidhu also has a friendship with General Bajwa, the head of the Pakistan Army. After Amarinder Singh's resignation in Punjab, Balram Jakhar and Navjot Singh Sidhu are vying for the Chief Minister's post.

However, Amarinder Singh claimed that if Navjot Singh Sidhu was made the Chief Minister, it would worsen the situation in Punjab. While Captain Amarinder is still in the Congress, he categorically denied answering the question of whether he would accept Navjot Singh Sidhu as Chief Minister. He said he would not accept Sidhu as chief minister. Targeting Punjab Pradesh Samiti chairman Sidhu, he said he did not have the ability to run the state. It will worsen the condition of the entire state.
