Gauraksha is everyone's responsibility, declare cow as national animal: Allahabad High Court

The cow is the culture of India, it should not be killed

There are many cowsheds in the country but it is sad to see their miserable condition: Judge Shekhar Yadav

Lucknow: The Allahabad High Court, while hearing a case, said that Gauraksha should not be associated with any religion, adding that the cow should be declared a national animal. The central government also recommended that this be considered. The statement was made by a judge of the Allahabad High Court during the hearing of a person's bail application.

In Uttar Pradesh, a man named Javed was arrested in a case of killing a cow. He was charged under sections 3, 5 and 8 of the Cow Slaughter Prevention Act.

When Javed applied for bail in the High Court, Judge Shekhar Kumar Yadav said that Gauraksha should be the responsibility of everyone and not of any one religion. Cows should also get rights for which the government should bring a bill. The time has come for the cow to be declared a national animal. Strict action should be taken against anyone who harms or attempts to harm a cow.

The court said granting bail to Javed in the case could disturb the peace of the society. This is not the first time that an applicant has committed such an offense. Cow slaughter was also carried out earlier. Which has had a detrimental effect on society. With that in mind, bail cannot be granted.

The court also said that even today there are many cowsheds in the country but their condition is very poor. India is the only country where people of different religions live together. Everyone worships or prays differently. However some people try to weaken the country by committing crimes like cow slaughter.
