Kerala alone accounts for 4% of the total corona cases reported across the country. Giving this information in his weekly-media-briefing, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that the number of new cases in India is slowly declining and about 90 per cent of the elderly people have been given both doses of corona vaccine.

An official of the Gujarat state health department said that a "Mega Covid-15 vaccination drive" would be launched in the state from Friday and about 3 lakh people would be vaccinated in a single day.

According to Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Manoj Agarwal, the state government's target is to provide more than 3 lakh vaccines. And 100 per cent vaccination is to be done in 4,500 villages of the state. Preparations have been made for vaccination, especially in rural areas, for which a video-conference has been organized with the District Collectors and Municipal Commissioners to make the scheme a success.

A total of 4.5 crore doses have been given in Gujarat till Wednesday. In other words, out of every 10 lakh population, 2,3,8 persons have been vaccinated. In this way, Gujarat's action across the country is becoming laudable.
