Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was arrested for making an offensive statement about the Brahmin community. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel also slammed his father's statement and said such statements should not be made and appropriate action would be taken as per law.

Bhupesh Baghel's 86-year-old father Nandkumar Baghel was arrested by Raipur police from Delhi and brought to Raipur. A complaint was lodged against him at the DD Nagar police station in Raipur.

The complaint was lodged by an organization called Sarva Brahmin Samaj. The complaint alleges that Nand Kumar Baghel had branded the Brahmins as foreigners and told other citizens not to allow them to enter his villages. The organization alleges that Baghel also said that Brahmins should be expelled from the country as they are foreigners.

The video of his statement was also circulating on social media, the organization said in a police complaint. On the whole controversy, Bhupesh Baghel said, "I do not support the statement made by my father."

His statement has hurt the feelings of a society and I am also very sad. Appropriate action will be taken against them as per law. On the other hand, 86-year-old Nand Kumar Baghel was arrested and produced before the Sruthanik Court in Raipur, where the court ordered Nand Kumar Baghel to be remanded in judicial custody for 15 days.
