A vaccination campaign is underway across the country to prevent corona. So far, 20 million doses have been administered and it is hoped that the youth will be vaccinated by the end of the year. However a study in the meantime has raised concerns.

The ICMR-Regional Medical Center, Bhubaneswar, found in a study that antibody levels in covacin and covishield vaccine recipients began to drop after two to three months.

Dr. "We conducted a study on a total of 212 people who took covishield and covacin," Bhattacharya said. We saw antibodies build up in them and kept an eye on them for six months. We are going to keep an eye on the antibody for two years.

"We found in the study that those who took both doses of covacin had lower antibodies after two months," he said. Antibodies began to decline after three months in Covishield recipients.

The study began in March. Concerned over the reduction in antibodies, Sanghmitra Pati, director, ICMR-RMRC, said that even if antibodies are reduced, antibodies remain in the body.
