Also compensation to the family of the person who committed suicide within 30 days of Corona being positive

Submission to the Supreme Court of the Center

Compensation of Rs. 50,000 will be given as per the guideline of Central Government

New Delhi: The family of a person who committed suicide within 30 days of receiving a positive report from Corona will also be compensated Rs 50,000 as per the Centre's guidelines, the Center today told the Supreme Court.

The government has clarified its guideline stating that if a patient dies within 30 days of having tested positive for corona or being clinically proven, his or her death will be presumed to have been caused by corona. This does not necessarily mean that the patient died at the hospital.

Before a bench comprising Justice MR Shah and Justice AS Bopanna, the Center had said that Corona's death would be presumed to have been caused by a corona patient, hospitalized and who was admitted to the hospital even after 30 days.

The government has further stated that cases which have not been resolved and in which deaths of people in hospital or at home have also been attributed to corona. An affidavit filed by the Center said that compensation of Rs 50,000 would also be paid to the family members of the person who committed suicide within 30 days of Corona's report being positive.
