5,000 Defense Ministry personnel will be shifted to the new complex

More than 3,000 employees from eight organizations affiliated to the Ministry of Defense will shift to the new complex being built under the Central Vista project in New Delhi. Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the new complex on Thursday.

More than 3,000 officers and staff from nine organizations affiliated with the defense ministry, service headquarters and other affiliated offices are getting new offices, defense ministry officials said. The employees will shift from British-era offices near the North and South blocks to their new offices at Africa Avenue and Kasturba Gandhi Marg. Two new complexes for the Ministry of Defense have been set up at different locations.

The shift of the Ministry of Defense offices will free up 30 acres of land for the Central Vista project. Ministry of Defense Ft. Space will be vacated and the two new multi-storey complexes will have 2.5 lakh sq. Ft. Ft. Will handle operations in the area. Both these complexes are spread over a total area of ​​12 acres. Africa Avenue Complex 3.06 lakh sq. Km. The foot area is spread over four blocks while the Ministry of Defense complex on KG Marg consists of three blocks. For the new office complex, the Ministry of Defense has allocated Rs. 4 crore were allotted. According to the Central Vista project approved by the Center, the offices in the North and South blocks will be converted into National Museums while the Indira Gandhi National Center will be shifted to another location. The Prime Minister's residence will be moved behind the current South Block complex while the Vice President's residence will be moved behind the North Block.
