11 per cent increase in dearness allowance of government employees-pensioners

5.09 lakh employees and 4.50 lakh pensioners to benefit: Rs 378 crore burden on exchequer

Ahmedabad: Like the Government of India, the Gujarat government has announced an 11 per cent increase in the dearness allowance of its nine lakh officers, employees and pensioners. His inflation allowance has been increased from 11 per cent to 28 per cent.

He said government employees had so far received 17 per cent inflation allowance. It has now been decided to increase it by 11 per cent. The increase in inflation allowance will be paid only with the salary for the month of September. The arrears of inflation allowance due from July will be paid along with the salary for the month of October.

Similarly, arrears due in August will be paid along with January 2022 salary. As a result of this decision of the Gujarat government, about Rs. 378 crore will come.

The decision will benefit an estimated 9,61,638 employees. This includes 5,11,1129 employees of the state government. This includes senior government officials, employees and panchayat employees. 4,50,509 pensioners will also get additional benefit of inflation allowance.
